Wooden Side Table – Douglas Wood – Rectangular

This Douglas wooden side table is an essential addition to your garden. When you are relaxing with a drink in the warm summer sunshine, you can easily place your sunglasses, phone, book or magazine on this sturdy and robust wooden side table.

It is also very practical for children, providing a handy surface for eating a sandwich, drawing, or playing with a toy car. The table is solid and stable, yet light enough to be moved to another spot in the garden when the sun shifts or when you want to use the space for a different activity.

Material and dimensions of the wooden side table

The table is made from our favourite material: Douglas wood. The legs have a solid thickness of 10 cm x 10 cm, and the tabletop is constructed from Douglas planks measuring 2.8 cm thick and 18 cm wide. A 2 mm gap is left between the planks to allow for the natural movement of the wood.

The dimensions of the side table are: L 90 x W 57 x H 40 cm.

Do we work with sustainable wood?

Yes, nature is important to us too. That’s why we purchase our wood from companies certified with the PEFC label. PEFC is an international certification for wood products and paper, and stands for Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. It is supported by governments, companies and regional organisations. Wood with the PEFC label comes from sustainably and socially managed forests.

Movement of the wood

Due to the natural movement of the wood, small and sometimes longer fine hairline cracks may appear. This is a normal occurrence and does not affect the strength or stability of the picnic table. These cracks may become visible during warm and dry weather, and can partially disappear again once wetter, rainy conditions return. It is not possible to predict how this will develop in Douglas wood. If you are unsure whether the hairline cracks in your wood are normal, please feel free to send us a photo so we can assess it for you.
