Large Douglas Wooden Picnic Table – Size L 2 metres

These extra-large picnic tables are made from Douglas wood. Douglas wood is a strong and durable type of wood and is therefore extremely suitable for outdoor use. The beams are made from planed Douglas wood with a thickness of 9.5 cm by 4.5 cm. The picnic table is fitted with a solid supporting structure and additional braces to prevent sagging. These picnic tables are suitable for 6 to 8 people.

Can the picnic table remain outdoors during the winter?

Yes, Douglas wood is highly resistant to our winters. You may choose to treat the picnic table with Douglas oil to preserve its colour for a longer period. If left untreated, the table will naturally develop an elegant grey patina over time. If the picnic table becomes slightly green after the winter months, it can be cleaned using a mild solution of water and green soap. Regularly removing dirt and leaves will also help to extend the lifespan of the table.

Do we work with sustainable wood?

Yes, nature is important to us too. That’s why we purchase our wood from companies certified with the PEFC label. PEFC is an international certification for wood products and paper, and stands for Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. It is supported by governments, companies and regional organisations. Wood with the PEFC label comes from sustainably and socially managed forests.

Movement of the wood

Due to the natural movement of the wood, small and sometimes longer fine hairline cracks may appear. This is a normal occurrence and does not affect the strength or stability of the picnic table. These cracks may become visible during warm and dry weather, and can partially disappear again once wetter, rainy conditions return. It is not possible to predict how this will develop in Douglas wood.
